Happy Earth Day π
I photographed this Japanese Maple Tree at a little-known gem in the heart of Buckhead, Georgia, Blue Heron Nature Preserve. I literally stumbled on the preserve this week and fell in love with their goal to enhance the 30 acres of natural habitat entrusted to the nonprofit organization. The Blueway Trail is critical to its mission of creating a personal experience with nature.
Japanese maple trees have been considered a symbol of grace. Associated with the peace and serenity of the world's elements, Japanese maple trees represent balance and practicality. They are called kito in the Japanese language, which means calm, rest, or at peace.
